the feminine side of love

I read in my travels with the golden sufis that the feminine side of love is longing, waiting, patience. The masculine side is "doing".

I am not keen on this whole longing side of love. Patience? What's that?!

OK...so I said I wanted to learn to be Guinevere. This is what she does. She waits.

Wow, being feminine is tough. I'm used to just grabbing my sword and chasing after what I want. Waiting for it to come to you is tough.

She of little faith. But, to be fair, that is always my greatest prayer...for faith.

And so, in this season of lent, I'm giving up wheat, but more importantly, practicing patience for my heart's desire to come to me.

He is worth waiting for....

Let's not be Guinevere. She didn't seem to have much control of life.

I don't like being naked around swords.

I'm not very good at waiting, patience, or giving up anything. I would have made a terrible Guinevere.

/t - I think I AM a bit bonny :) Inside all of us, we have all the archetypes. The one I haven't developed yet is Guinevere. If you prefer, then let's call her Demeter, the keeper of the hearth. But, I know the story of the fair maiden and the knight best and really want the knight in my life.

If he messes with me, he'll get the machine gun, of course, I'm still a bit Bonny!

Foam - none of them had control over their lives. And really, none of us do. As I said to /t, its just one of the archetypes but one I haven't developed, and its a side of me I need to work on. How can I attract a knight if I'm not a maiden? And I do want a knight.

Puppy, I can understand that - expecially given your history.

SJ - I'm not good at it either. I'm working on it. I personally want all the tools in my toolkit - ability to take care of myself but also the ability to yield and let someone else take care of me.

I think maidens these days knock knights upside the head ...
But I could be wrong.

Always keep in touch with the Warrior Woman within you.

Spo,
I can never forget my inner warrior women - boudicea, bonny parker, Diana, and Kali. They are the sisters I honour every day for creating a world for us women where we are free to both fight our own battles and to be vulnerable and receptive, knowing we can defend and fend for ourselves if necessary. You may be right. Let's just say I am trying to rediscovered my feminine side.
